About Me
The Fun Bio
I am so glad you are here! While therapy can be a difficult journey, I enjoy bringing humor to sessions periodically and laughing at silly, goofy jokes. As an Arizona native (I know… rare to find one of those!) I enjoy spending time outdoors, swimming, hiking and traveling.
When I am not providing therapy to my wonderful clients, I spend my free time with my family and two rambunctious dogs. I also enjoy a good mindless reality tv show (who’s ready for Love is Blind?) and listening to a variety of podcasts. Some of my favorite TV shows include, This is Us, The Office, Succession and The Pitt. As vulnerable as therapy can be I hope to bring a calming presence to our sessions and listen with empathy and compassion as we navigate life’s difficulties.
Hi! I’m Jennifer!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and the owner of Stride Forward Counseling LLC. I provide counseling sessions virtually to clients in Arizona.
As an Arizona native I received my undergraduate degree from Arizona State University (Go Devils!) and earned my Masters Degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2016. Prior to opening my private practice in 2020, I treated individuals experiencing symptoms associated with general mental health, substance abuse, personality disorders, and facilitated adult DBT groups. I enjoy working with a wide variety of clients who are interested in regaining control of their life. When you begin therapy with me you will be welcomed into a non-judgmental space which will allow you to explore the possible source of your presenting issue and ways you can enhance your well-being. My goal is to provide you with the necessary tools to help you cope with life’s challenges and stride forward.
I am passionate about working with new parents and individuals struggling with intrusive, unwanted thoughts that can often feel debilitating. I know how hard it can be to struggle with intrusive thoughts and feeling as there is no escape. You are not alone and I am here to help you.
I am certified in Exposure and Response Prevention (EXRP) therapy from the Cognitive Behavior Institute. I am also trained in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
In my time away from work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, baking, and scuba diving. I look forward to helping you reach a healthy mental state and continue to stride forward.
